I've had a crack team of professionals helping me this week with our new arrival: Lucy Sr. - pro grandmother and expert holder-of-the-inconsolable-infant, Brooke - aunt, Bronx midwife and lactation consultant extrordinaire, and Mike - father, Middle East Editor of the Christian Science Monitor, and world renowned poopy diaper changer. I've just had to nurse, pump, and stare at the cute baby since everyone makes a big stink whenever i try to clean up the house, or even get up and walk around the living room (4th degree laceration if you really want to know).
but Lucy is AMAZING.
i must go take my stool softener.
so you can POOP.
Man, still. that kid is fucking cute as hell. y'all did an amazing job. The poontang will heal and you'll forget all about it :)

I found your blog a while ago, and have been keeping up with your posts. Just wanted to say from one mother to another "welcome to the club", and congratulations - she's beautiful.

Wow! Could you send that team over here when you're done!! I need some professional help in many ways. I'm planning a 1 year birthday party for next weekend that will make even Martha Stewart tired. Can you believe he's 12 months!??! It feels like 12 minutes! Enjoy every quick second, Umi!

OUCH! Stay in bed! What are you thinking, getting up, cleaning? Do you have one of those inflatable doughnuts to sit on?
